The Tiki Trike review
By: sagtbone
I bought this kit in a whim. The number of parts are small, so I thought it would be a quick and easy build. Assembly was relatively easy except for small parts. Assembly of the engine can be tricky. Pay attention to the orientation of the heads. Test fit the carbs to be sure you have them heads lined up correctly. The body halves needs to glued ttogether followed by covering the seam with some putty then sanded smooth. I recommend super glue for the assembly of the small parts but used it sparingly. I do not recommend this kit for beginners. It can be a tedious build. The decal sheet is great. I give this kit a rating of 4 our of 5. It's a good slump buster kit.
Island Fun Ride
Nice little kit! Easy assembly with few parts. I think the Trick Trike series are just plain fun! They are like big Hot Wheels. Tons of decal options with this kit. I like to build these kind of kits when I have builders block or if I just need to walk away from a current build for a while. PROS: I can say: I made this! CONS: I hear bongo drums playing in my head.
Focus on enjoying the kit
I think this is the best looking of the six Trick Trikes. I had a little difficulty aligning the engine and frame (reason for 4 star rating). Confirming test fits and being patient will pay off. If you like chrome, you will be happy that the engine, fork, and handle bars are already done for you. Assembled dimensions: 6.50 in long, 2.75 in wide, 1.75 in tall.
DIFFICULT TO BUILD

Had a terrible time with this kit!!!Directions make you have to GUESS how to orientatate parts to assemble in the right possition Engine parts difficult to assemble I thought the overall engine design alone was not well thought out Iam not a novice in this hobby bUt this kit was both disappointing and frustrating to build NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!at least by me
Fun Kit

I love these reissued kits. Had this as a kid and had to have it again. Flash was light but parts were delicate so be careful when removing them from the spruce. instructions were done well with no issues. Fit was excellent. Detail was nice and crisp. Painted it Orange metallic. I would recommend this kit to all builders.
TIKI TRIKE
Just like all the other kits in the series this is a fun and fast build. I was able to glue the frame halves together before paint leaving the fork neck unglued for final assembly. Engine slides right into place easily.
1 of 6 in Series

Fairly simple build. Comes with 3 different colored windshields. There are 6 in the series. Its a lot of model for as small as it is. Comes with different decals for different themes.
