I really hated to take away a point against this kit, but I could not justify a 5-star rating, with a major problem like this kit has. Namely the big gap between the interior passenger side panel and the door. You can see how noticeable this is in my photo. I did not realize there was a problem here, until most of the final assembly had already been completed. The problem here was not noticed because the door panel fit exactly into the space meant for it, with all of the adjoining surfaces mating almost perfectly, including the dashboard. I really could not have envisioned such an eyesore as this is. Another minor gripe would be the tires. The blackwalls just did nothing for this car. I personally believe that the big muscle cars look as if they're lacking detail, because of the plain sides (and the tiny badges). That's why I'm attempting to paint such kits with contrasting colors, to minimize the plain look. Why Round 2 did not consider this is beyond me. This kit really deserved white lettered tires! Needless to say, the tires in my photos are not original equipment. I would gladly have accepted leaving out the trailer for lettered tires. Last, and the least is the fact that both of the front tires/wheels came off during assembly, due to the plastic axle pins Round 2 refuses to upgrade, and that the fit was very tight and required a good deal of flexing. So, if you can keep these things in mind and work to correct them before final assembly, you will have a great looking display model!

AMT/MPC did a good job cleaning up the tooling & adding a new easier to detail interior with seperate side panels , so would that be the new tooling? I remember building this in 1968 as a NEW release from MPC, thankfully this hasn't been repopped over & over again, the body's nice & clean, only a few mold seams & no flash.. The chassis plate leaves alot to be desired,really weak on detail especially the total lack of front suspension, the Instructions need to be updated too, it calls for chrome valve covers, there are none.. It does have a nice decal sheet with gauges, R/T badges, Fire & Police, 4 colors of Stripes,a decent light bar for fire & police, needs blue gumballs... With an updated chassis this could be a 5 star kit...Young builders should be OK with this... All in all this is building up into a respectable example of late 60's American Muscle..
