An MPC Classic Returns
This is a classic kit from MPC (Round2) and does not disappoint. The tires are some of the best I have seen in a boxed kit. They have great sidewall markings, size, and tread design. The wood grain detailing on the bed is very easy to hand paint to resemble wood and it's very easy to highlight the metal bed strips with a sliver marker or chrome pen. Th kit also contains some gorgeous rims that are molded in gold which look great against the black body of the truck. I did not touch the rims at all since they looked so realistic. The decal sheet is outstanding. Just take your time since the hood decal is very large and needs some solvent to conform to the contours of the hood. The only issue I had with this kit is that I would recommend installing the front engine bracket AFTER you install the front differential. Otherwise, the bracket will mount too low in the frame and interfere with the differential. Nice kit - loved building it!
Nice kit
Not bad for a repop from the 70's, it was actually really clean with very little flash.. I'm pretty sure this can also be built as the base 2wd PU, which leave the 4x4 parts to build a 4x4 longbed if you have that kit.. Might have to make or modify driveshafts which isn't hard.. Now for the decals, very NICE except the one on the passenger side of the cab broke in half !! So be advised, maybe spray the sheet with some clear, I would if I was to build it again. The engine's OK, it works, if you're careful you can drill out the top of the molded-in distributor on the front cover/water pump.. It works..

Great kit, I did my version in the lesser produced dark green witch really set off the gold decals. Kit went together well with minimal trimming. It did have the slightest twist to the bed but it doesn't show in the finished model.
