Heavy Small Fun Panzer
This kit from Pegasus included parts for two tank destroyers (TD). Each TD had about 10 parts including a pair of very nicely detailed track assemblies. The kit did not contain any decals. Since this TD only existed as paper panzer, I decided one of the models would be heavily modified. I built the first TD out of the box with only a plastic Christmas tree needle antenna added. It took me all of 5-10 minutes to clean up the very minimal flash and snap it together. The only part that I had to glue was the exhaust muffler. The second TD was built as a close relative of the Rumanian Maresal tank destroyer. I turned the body of the tank 180 degrees, cut out the (new) front glacis, utilized a door and a vent from said glacis, shaved the skirts, and mounted a gun from my scrap box into a scratch mantlet. These TDs would be very good for wargamers as they are solid pieces and have very little that will break off. They are also good for kit-bashing as the track assemblies are very nice. For me, I can't think of any negatives for this kit. It was what I expected from a Pegasus kit; inexpensive, quick assembly, looks good with my other 1/72 armor collection. I recommend this kit!
