Great Design for an Alien
Without a doubt, the special effects of the 2005 version of War of the Worlds saved the movie from mediocrity. The design of the war machines was doubtlessly inspired by the original novel, but the alien creatures took a very different path. Rather than being portrayed as sluggish, octopus-like beings, these invaders were spindly and energetic and convincing. This wonderfully accurate kit from Pegasus is easy to build, but it is vinyl, so acrylic paints are recommended.
