Great 1950s SciFi B Movie Rocket
I have a fondness for the 1950s SciFi B-movies and the model kits Pegasus has produced of the ships and creatures from them. I've built a half dozen and had this in my stash for a long time before building it. I had never seen this movie so found it online and watched after building it. It was a half decent movie but some things were rather inane. The model is small in size about 10 tall with only a few parts. The fuselage halves, a couple of fins and the windows. So it was easy to assemble. It did require work on the lengthwise body seam to remove it and then the use of Silly Putty to cover the windows while painting. I used Vallejo acrylic aluminum and got a nice shiny finish. There was also an aft engine plate which I painted gun metal and dry brushed aluminum to accent the nozzle outlines. A simple and inexpensive addition to their B-movie line.
