Reviews : Revell-Monogram Jaguar XK-E (E-Type) Coupe

Revell dos it again with another well engineered and very detailed kit. All of the parts were molded nicely and fit well. This is definitely a skill level 5 mostly due to the extensive parts count, small and delicate chrome pieces and bumpers in addition to an elaborate decal sheet. To be honest some decals were just too small for my eyes and hands to deal with but props to Revell for providing them. Also, the flip,up bonnet can be difficult to fit so pay attention to what assembly sequence works best for you. The only thing I really didn’t like about the kit was it was molded in red. I took the path of least resistance and used Tamiya X-7 gloss red and was very pleased with the end result. It’s not that you can’t paint it other colors, it’s just a bit more work to prime it well enough to prevent any bleed through and with this kit you really have to pay attention to detail and keep track of what should be what color. I highly recommed this kit for someone who wants to dive into a bit of a challange and persue a stunning build.

Excellent kit for experienced builders, extremely detailed and everything fit like it was supposed to. Lots of delicate procedures and parts you just cannot rush this build. The front section hinge was the only hiccup I had so I just made it removeable since it only had limited range to open hood. It was a fun build and so nice to not have lots of flash and to have things fit so perfectly, remember it a level 5 and a challenge to test you skills...I wish more kits were done as well, I loved it!

This is a car kit for beginners. It is a full level 5 kit lot of small parts. You need a good spur cutter to cut the part off. You should use Tamiya cement and Tamiya extra-thin cement to glue the kit together. You will need tweezers to put the parts on it one of the better detailed kits I have made. The parts fit good, it just takes a long time to build, but it looks great when done

Revell did a beautiful job with this one, the instructions are clear & easy to follow, only complaint is the paint colors could've been page by page...

Don't even buy his kit unless you are very confident you are at least at level 5.Just found out I'm NOT.Plan carfully and be patient.
