If you like to be challenged, this kit is for you. There are lots of small detail parts that make this subject pop. The curvaceous body is excellent, but note that there are 3 light mold lines that you may want to lightly sand – one atop each fender and another that runs across the rear deck at license plate level. The 427 FE engine, frame, suspension, and interior are also excellent. I made one departure from the instructions. In step 17 the lower radiator hose (part 16 in step 16) should be routed UNDER the steering rack. The box photos show it routed this way. It is a tight fit and I wedged it in without glue and then mounted the radiator. I also needed to remove the oil cap (part 64) on the left valve cover to allow the hood to close. I use E6000 to build most of this kit. It is REALLY tacky, sticks to everything, sets up quickly, dries clear, and is kind to acrylic and lacquer paints. It is perfect for adding those small parts. The only downside is that it can be messy, so watch out for spider lines and use it sparingly. A toothpick comes in handy for tight spots and helps keep things neat and clean. This was an enjoyable out of the box build. Despite the minor fitment issues I rate this 5 stars.

Upon the re issue of his kit, I looked into my stash and found an older version of the kit, the Street Burner series. I found this kit to be well detailed with no flash but the body has some mold lines. Being a Ken Miles fan I decided to build a replica of his 427 Cobra. I found the instructions to be fairly straight forward but not for a beginner. I only had a few issues with the assembly. The lower radiator hose should be attached to the water pump attatachment point instead of being attached to the radiator. The other issue were the very very small parts like the hood latches and the oil filter caps. Care must be taken when removing and attaching these parts. They can be easily lost. Other than that the rest of the assembly is fairly easy. I cannot comment on the decals a I did not use them.I do not recommend this kit for a beginner. On a scale 1 thru 5, I give it a 4.5 because of of its small parts.

Because this is such an iconic car, I was very much looking forward to receiving and building this model. As I started to work on it, I quickly realized that this kit was not as cleanly molded as a couple of the previous Revell kits I had recently done. There was some offset in the molds and a fair bit of flashing. So extra time and patience was called for. And in the end, it really didn't matter much - it was a Shelby Cobra 427 and it was still a lot fun to build. I especially liked the detailing of the engine. I painted the body Tamiya Pearl Blue, TS-89. Although Revell included a nice selection of decals, I opted to use just a few.

I found this kit to be well detailed with little flash but the body will need some sanding prior to painting. Good representation of the iconic 427 Cobra with nice details. There are very small parts like the latches and the oil caps. I found the windshield and surround rather difficult to install but with a little patience it turned out looking pretty good.

Love this kit. Everything went together very well.no flashing.
