Reviews : Revell-Monogram 1969 Chevy Nova SS

Using this kit to build Grumpy's Toy V. The real car was a 68, so some body mods had to be made. Removing the vents on the front fenders along with the Nova script and filling in the louvers on the hood. Making a vynle top from masking tape. Used Evergreen strip to make the molding around the bottom of the vynle top at the C pillar. Painted the body Artic White with Dupicolor. The vynle top with Krylon Hobby flat black. Used Slixx decals offered with the 67, 68 Camaro's and the Nova. Replaced the small block with a 396 from Revell's 65 Chevelle kit. Custom made headers using 12 guage silver flower tie wire and aluminum tubing. Though not finished the kit represents the car well. The Copo kit would have saved some time. It aready has a 396 and has no hood louvers. I was inspired by a book my son bought me for Christmas about all the Grumpy's Toy's.

I love this nova it is so awesome it looks so good and is very accurate to the real thing I had a lot of fun building it, it went together with no problems and had a little bit of flash on the hood but was easy to clean up it is really fun to build old muscle cars and in my opinion are some of the best kits to build so I had a lot of fun on this kit this was a good looking kit for my custom cars shop diorama and really made the shop just POP! this kit is really worth the money PROS: Awesome kit, looks good in my custom garage diorama, has parts that are very accurate to the real thing, has many possibilities, easy to put together CONS: for me I had no cons with this kit it was GREAT! If you are on the fence on this kit just buy it if you love old muscle cars buy it it is a really good kit looks good and is fun to build

I've had this kit for some time and just finished it. I had a 69 nova in high school so I built this the way my old one was. The flash on this kit was light so clean up was easy. Parts fit was great with no real problems at all. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The kit comes with race or stock options. Detail was excellent overall and adding detailing pars was easy. The only thing I changed was I added a 6- 2 barrel intake manifold and carbs from my parts box and I also changed the rims and tires. I added throttle linkage and engine wires. I painted it black with yellow racing stripes I made on my printer. I painted the interior black and did all the trim in bare metal foil. I would recommend this kit to all builders. This kit really took me back to my high school days.

I love this kit this kit is a lot of fun to build I love old cars so this is great for my collection this kit has a lot of cool ways you can customize it I want to add another one to my stash as this one looks so good PROS: cheap, fun to build, looks good, highly detailed, features a nice engine CONS: minor flash if you are thinking of picking up this kit then get it, it is a great kit for any old car collector and you will have many ways you can build this if I was going to give it a rating I would give it 10 out of 10 stars I am using this kit for a diorama I have about the first ever car show I went to my mom took a lot of pictures of the cars there so I build cars based on what was at the show and the beginning of my car addiction!

If you're from the southwest or know Spanish you know that NO VA means wont go! This kit is all Go. It builds easily into a stock or race subject. As usual Revell includes a parts list, a color guide, and clear instructions. The engine compartment is very nice. One thing about the Nova is that if you also build real cars these can be had for a reasonable price and the parts needed to build a great car are available and relatively cheap. This was a Father's Day from my son--he works at Michael's (oops, can I say that here)? I got to the project immediately (so he would get me another kit this year). It came out beautifully. Now he wants it back!

This was my First model kit to assembly since the mid 80's it was also my first car so the love for the Nova is deep with me.I really enjoyed this kit hardly any flash and fitment was really good. I choose to do a street/strip version I really feel for a race version there should be a blower or turbos or at least NOS tanks. I really just did my own thing and it turned OK pretty good for my return back to the modeling hobby. I do know I will be ordering more Nova kits in the future

this is a real good kit, no flashing, no fitment problems, comes with 2 hoods, option to build race or stock, or mix the parts up like i did n build a sweet street rod, good decal sheet, has all the emblems and 2 dash clusters, strait lines on the body, very little mold lines, great chrome parts, all n all i had a blast building this kit, turned out great, i highly recommend this kit, im planing on building another as soon as i can find one

What a great kit! The parts are crisply molded with little to no flash and lots of detail. All the parts fit together perfectly and I encountered no issues with the assembly. There are numerous extra parts for building various versions and the decal sheet is large and colorful. Do yourself a favor and buy and build this kit! This was a joy to build and is highly recommended by Stumpy Grump's Scale Speed Shop!

this kit is a looker either way to choose to build it. can be built stock or drag. i will build this 1 as a drag car. will get another to build stock also. detail is good and instruction's are pretty good also. have not built it but after looking it over and test fitting part's seem's like it will go together with no problem's. a sharp kit and this is coming from a ford man.

This kit was fairly easy to build. I have photos of this car in my gallery. I used parts from my spare parts kit and the wheels are not those that come with the kit; and the black decals over the roof and truck are also from my spare parts kit. There are no areas that need to be addressed for difficulty--just take your time and it will end up looking great!

This is one of the best that Revell has released in the last 20 years or so.. This is a builders kit with excellent fit & a nice variety of parts for multiple building options... Only complaint is the lack of mag wheels, Cragars or Torque thrusts would've been nice... I highly recommend this kit for builders of all skill levels...

This Revell kit is in my top five builds from the company. I was pleasantly surprised when I built the Nova. The detailed engine turned out really great. I added some rims and tires from my stash box that really took the look to another level. This was a flawless build. Of course I made a couple of mistakes but the kit was spot on.

Very happy with this kit. Very good detail. Parts fitment is top notch. Zero flashing. My only complaint is about the tires having no letters at all. Just smooth sides. Not however, a dealbreaker. I want another one

this kit had very little molding flash. Went together with ease no twisting or clamping needed. has stock and hot rod options for engine, tires and interior. built it with some modifications as you can see.

Nice clean kit. Lots of extras to choose from. I'm combining this with the 69 COPO Nova and some extra detailing parts so I'm having a couple very minor fit issues but I'm liking this kit a lot.

I have two of these in different stages of completion. But the Revell 69 Nova kits are all outstanding kits! Highly recommended whether you have been building for 50 yrs or 1.

I have built about 6 of these kits and it has to be one of the easiest and nicest to build. The parts fit together very well and look awesome with even minor detailing!

Nice kit. Comes together nicely. Decals for lights and 2 sets of wheels for different versions. I've build 2 and wouldn't mind building another.

Great kit with many custom options. Kit went together well with very little issues. Would highly recommend this kit to anyone who loves muscles cars.

Good, but some of the parts are difficult to remove and require excessive cleaning, even for basic practice modeling...but also for proper fitment

i liked this model but it could of used a bit more racing equipment like a blower or wheelie bars but still was cool to build.

Great Model if you love the 60's Muscle Cars! I have built this car over 10 times. You cannot go wrong with this kit!
