Definitely a Foose Truck
This was a fun kit to build, but it can be tricky if not planned out. There were five separate parts that made up the body. The cab and bed are separate of course, but three other body parts have to be painted as well. If you use a spray can to paint your models, be prepared and have an extra can on hand. You can easily run out of paint and end up with a mix-match paint job. I would have preferred the body in less parts. The Foose kit had its usual quality parts with great detailing and styling. There was some extra flashing on the front fenders, but that’s part of building models. After a quick trim and sanding, it was easily corrected. The only other item I would have liked to see differently in this kit was the Foose branding. I’m a big fan of Foose designs, but the Foose badging was a little overpowering in this kit. There wasn’t one Ford logo in the entire kit. The tailgate with Foose instead of Ford was where I really wanted a Ford badge. At the same time I get it. It’s a Foose design. But they couldn’t have at least one Ford badge on the entire truck? I added Ford floor mats from Hobbylinc to fix the issue. With all of that said, I have another Foose truck that I’m going to build. You can’t beat the nice rims that you can customize with little effort. Then you have the lowered suspension that makes the truck have a mean stance. The Roush engine is definitely the cherry on top. I look forward to building this kit again. This time I’ll probably add an aftermarket Ford badge on the tailgate.
Finally! it's here - What a Sweet Kit
WOW! a completely new tooling of a classic truck. This time Revell went after one of the most recognized customizations of an truly iconic ride. With a 3D scan of the actual vehicle, a new mold was created to improve upon what was already a great build. The engine is new, the cab is new, and the suspension was recreated with perfection. The bed is now 2 pieces, instead of 7 it another version. The engine is a highly detailed version of the Roush power plant that resides in the 1:1 version. Custom Foose wheels. Soft rubber tires. Clean and shiny chrome parts. Amazing decals for that added pop factor, including one recreating the wood grain bed. This is not a re-pop of either the '55 Monogram kit, or the hard to assemble '56 Revell kit. The doors do not open on this kit. The interior doors panels have power windows switches, and speakers molded in with accurate precision. Two switches in the drivers door, & one in the passenger. Gas & brake pedals are molded into the floor pan.
Sweet kit - event sweeter wheels
As expected from revell a really great kit! First, this may include the best set of wheels to come with a factory box kit, it would be great if they would offer them for sale separately. There is a ton of attention to detail to allow you to build this kit exactly like the 1:1 version including decals for the interior panels and seats. The bed is cleverly molded with the base of the bed separate from the sides allowing you to create crisp finish lines, and includes a complete decal to depict the wood slats. I also like that much of the parts are molded separately, parts like exhaust, suspension, engine, and interior all require separate assembly. This will make for more time spent on the model but is a refreshing change from the mold it all into the undercarriage trend out there. In all, I would recommend this kit and am thinking of buying it again myself.
Easy to assemble
This model was a pleasure to build. The instructions are very clear, and the parts fit like they should with no filing or sanding. The running boards are a separate part so it's very easy to paint it a contrasting color. The bed can be hand painted to resemble wood, or you can simply use the provided decal which lays down great without the need for any decal solvent. Final assembly is very easy, but I found that it's best to put the interior assembly inside the cab first before mounting it to the frame. The instructions want you to mount the interior first to the chassis and then place the cab over the interior. I found this to be difficult and could result in damage to the cab. Overall, the model had a killer stance and looks great on the shelf.
Love these Ford trucks
no doubt a Foose kit... and like all the Foose line of kits there are little to no optional ways to build it from the box...With that said ,on this truck you may not want to change it up. Great details , great engine , suspension could be a bit better but still not bad. Interior is very well detailed and has nice crisp moldings and decals if you should choose to use them... I have personally built two so far, and had no issues with fit or finish on either..recommended to any and all who love 50s trucks
Great model kit
Great model kit! I was really impressed with the fit of all of the pieces. The instructions were easy to follow. My right front fender had a lot of extra mold lines that needed to be sanded off, but overall everything went together really well. I do wish that the box had actual model pictures because that can be helpful sometimes. When in doubt I just searched online for pictures of the real Foose pickup.
Back in the game.
First kit I've built in over 15 years. Could not complain about it at all. Everything fit well, needed very little trimming. My only complaint would be how rusty I am. Not sure I did the kit justice. I would not be bothered to build it again with a little customization. I would recommend this kit to anyone from novice to the tried and true pros. Thanks and enjoy.
Nice
over all was a nice kit the cab had mold lines that needed attention and kit had small flash the cab fitting at the end was rough and running boards didn't fit right and the decals for detail was rough and some of them you couldnt see do to the black they want you to paint.. I stock built it beside plug wires from parts by park I got here and a Mississippi tag.
Good not great
Not really a fan of Foose builds but I heard good things about the engine and wheels in this kit. They are exceptionally nice. The body, for new tooling, had a few more flaws than I would have expected. The rest of the kit I can't say much, good or bad, did major kit bashing , don't even really know how many parts from this kit I used.
Great Addiction
This was a great build, the engine was very detailed to the point where the heads actually had partially drilled holes in them for spark plugs which made it easy to wire the engine. This particular build Foose build went together with no issues. If I decide to sell it, I wouldn't hesitate on building another one
FOOSE FD-100
This kit was very well designed.. and being a new tooled truck kit, I had to have it. Easy to assemble. Some people get a little bent outta shaped that it has metal axles. I don't mind at all, and you really can't see them anyway. Finished product is a work of art. Grab this, it won't disappoint.
Just got the Foose FD 100 ford pick-up truck.
This model is all that has been said before,It is very detailed and the model has little to no flash. I can't wait to start this build. Pictures will follow as I complete each section. If you love 50's era cars and trucks I would say to you this is one model you should build.
Complete new tooling on Foose 56.
This is the first Foose design model release were Revell actually built new tooling so this kit actually shows the changes to the body and fenders that gave Chip Foose the reputation he built as one of the finest customizer in the industry.
A fun build
Although there were a few fitment issues and the wood grain bed decal was unusable the kit finished out rather well. I did add extras line fuel and brake lines, battery cables, plug wires, and flock for the floor this was a fun build.
An outstanding kit!
A great kit with little to no flash. The details are very well defined, and while there's not a lot of parts, the fitment is excellent. It would be very hard to not have this one turn out wonderfully. A fun and excellent kit!
A little tricky to assemble
Overall not a bad kit. I think i just got the unlucky warped cowel because a friend built the same kit bought from the same store and his was just fine. It has a fairly high amount of detail and is overall a cool truck
Ford truck
built it as the kit intended then donated the frame and drvetrain to a ford lighting that never got finished, i have a bodydropped c10 frame waiting to go under the ford body.
Jack Morgan
