The Roden East African Airways Super VC10 release
My earlier review of the other Roden BOAC Type 1151 Super VC10 offering hits the highlights of the kit overall, so there is no need to repeat them here, except to say that the conical pointed engine exhaust as depicted in the kit applied to all of the EAA machines. The East African Type 1154 Super VC10 was built as a convertible freighter with a main deck door, and Roden did not address this, so you will have to plug two windows on the forward left fuselage (#8 and #15 going back from the passenger door) and use a cargo door decal. In addition, the yellow part of the decal stripe appears too orange to me, but 26 decals makes a decal allowing any of the five East African machines to be modeled. 26 decals also makes BOAC and British Airways decals to do any of those machines in the fleet as well. I have to say that the East African livery looked gorgeous on the Super VC10, and you'll love this kit
