Not bad, but plastic too brittle! Carefull!
So, I've bought this kit with the intention of making a Mk VB from Portuguese Air Force... And I was enjoying! I mean, the cockpit is fairly detailed, the parts fit nicelly, it is a nice little model. But as I was doing the hole on the wing, to install the top bulge, the whole wing just snapped... And from what could have been an easy assembly, I had to rescribe, and still hoping that it is not noticeable after primed and painted... So I'll leave you with this warning: The plastic is too britle, be very carefull, because as a materials engineer, I may tell you that it is not normal for a plastic to have a fracture of this kind... A ceramic, a very hard steel, yes, could snap like this. But a plastic, is simply not normal. And I ask myself: what will happen in a few years, when it ages?... End conclusion, nice plane to start with, but treat it like if it was made of glass....
If you love flash.......
If you love flash this kit is for you. There was very heavy flash and mould lines throughout the sprues, some of it was veri thick as well. Sparse details on cockpit and sidewalls. You do get a choice of 2 decal schemes and one paint scheme. Surface detail on exterior is very good but heavy seams along entire fuselage and wings will kill a good bit of it. Listed as level 2 but should be a three with all the cleaning, sanding, and gap filling. Canopy is one piece and not very clear.
Nice little kit, some good details and options
I'm not generally a fan of 1/72 aircraft, but this might just be an exception. It is incredibly well engineered. The wing fit is probably the best that I've found in pretty much any aircraft kit. The glowing point in this kit's favor is the option to make a snip-winged LF variant, which is a feature that is very welcome. Overall, this is a solid kit for all levels in 1/72 scale
Small, but nicely-detailed.
Another nicely-detailed Revell of Germany product, it features fine recessed panel lines and a surprising good cockpit. Includes two wingtip options (full wing or clipped). Small, but more than adequate in all aspects. Worth a buy!
