I really enjoyed this kit. It is VERY close to perfect. Overall, detail is quite nice. All the panel lines are clean and recessed, and detail is present all over. A couple of small pitfalls, however- for whatever reason, Revell molds the wheel wells as a flat, solid piece. However, the bottom of the cockpit tub and the inner sides of the fuselage are both represented quite nicely. I would advise that you take something like a Dremel and cut out that part of the wheel well- it really adds to the final look of the model. The other big problem is the canopy. I have no idea what Revell was doing with this canopy. Everything else is well modled, well detailed, and well fitting. However, the canopy is just terrible. It is misshapen, doesn't fit, is very fragile, and is very foggy. I used an old canopy from a Hasegawa kit, and that fixed the problem. Overall, It's a good kit, and would make a good candidate for this plane in this scale. In this scale, it's only real competitor is the new Airfix kit.

If the canopy were right. I'd give this kit 5 stars. Excellent fit. Decals worked great. No other real complaints. The canopy is not relieved consistantly. The center rail disappears. Shape is off. Excellent kit brought down by such an important part. Revell- Fix the canopy, charge a little more to make up for it. Even just a one piece that is right.... Recommend if you can replace or look over the glass.....

I just finished an older boxing of this kit. It was such a joy to build after the old Revel HE=219 in 1/72. The directions wer very clear. I did not have any problem getting it together. Just a little bit of sanding on the fuselage seams. I did have some issues with the decals disintegrating, but that was due to it being in storage for 25 years.

Good detail in the plastic and many detailed decals. There was a hole or two missing so a few parts were hard to install. Good painting guide. Some parts are a bit fragile and not well mounted to the model (pitot tube, for example). Pilot not included, so I had to buy one (which really annoys me).

I was surprised at the nice fit. A good looker with the right color scheme. Don't forget to add weight to nose! If you forget, it still looks nice leaning back as if it were taking off! Some trouble with matching fuselage color to box art. I actually purchased this in Brugge Belgium!

I built this in about 3 hours. I did have some figment issues with the engines to the wings but trimmed down nicely for a great overall finish
