Building Revell's Cutty Sark
When I started building sailing ships in 1980, my first clipper was Revell's Thermopylae. After learning much later that it was a ripoff of the Cutty Sark, I decided to build the real thing, and it was not a disappointment. This was probably the most enjoyable kit I've ever built, simply because the whole kit was so well made. Even the somewhat simplified rigging instructions( the toughest part of building for me) were easy to follow. One thing, save the aft lifeboats and davits until after rigging! My kit was clean, with very little flash, and the parts all fit perfectly. This kit is a must-have if you love beautiful ships! Rick
Wonderful kit
The plastic is nicely molded with minimal flash. My only complaint is the instruction booklet which is nigh impossible to follow - especially in regard to rigging. I was able to find an instruction sheet set from the H-399 (1974) series of the kit online and in combination with this booklet I am certain I'll be able to complete the model with good results.
