Reviews : Revell-Germany BMW i8

I've always thought the styling of BMW's i8 was eye catching. So when I saw that Hobbylinc had this 1/24th scale kit from Revell-Germany, I decided to order it. I'm really glad that I did. The kits quality and detail made this so enjoyable to build. The pieces fit together well and instructions were good. I liked the fact that you have both the gasoline engine and the electric motors to build as well as the option of putting the dihedral doors in the open or closed position. Also, I have always liked the metallic orange that BMW offers on their vehicles, so I painted the body Tamiya TS92 Metallic Orange and Tamiya TS14 Black.

While not for the beginning modeler, the BMW i8 was a lot of fun to put together. It was nice not to put together the traditional muscle car. The i8's two motors were a challenge, but the directions are excellent and diagrams are accurate and easy to follow. I would highly recommend this model to anyone that has a couple builds under their belt.

Nice looking kit with many parts. Instructions and build look complex but should go together easily enough for any experienced builder.
