Amazing AMG
By: OneTeamGarage
Revell really stepped up their game with this kit. I knew this kit was on another level when I examined the instructions. The instructions are in full color and very detailed. Some of my favorite feature of this kit were the decals which are plentiful. The carbon fiber decal for the roof was spot on. I also liked the badging especially on the grill. The lights were very detailed down to the led bulbs surrounding the headlights. The rims were ok and factory Mercedes rims but I wish the tires were a lower profile. That was ok because I had plans to add aftermarket rims anyway. Revell did a great job creating a suspension that was user friendly for adding aftermarket rims. A set of aftermarket rims will take this model to another level. A cheat code for this model would be to glue the front and rear bumpers on before painting. The instructions state the two go on later in assembly, but the instructions also show the chassis and interior going in after the front and rear bumper are attached. The bumpers have small attachments which can turn into a nightmare adding them to a painted body. Also you might run into a problem with the engine cover hitting the hood. Simply trim under the engine cover until it snaps into place over the engine and the problem is easily solved. Even if you trim a couple of open spaces in the engine cover it looks fine. I can honestly say this kit rivaled Tamiya which is my favorite kits to build. That says a lot for the quality of this kit. I can definitely see myself building another AMG GT.
Very accurate and fun, with minor issues

I love this kit.I'm biased because this is one of my favorite cars. I was pleasantly surprised by how accurate this is to the real thing. The interior, the engine bay, and the engine itself are almost one-to-one replicas of the real AMG GT. Its not perfect though. Certain decals are a pain to apply. And most importantly, there are fitting issues between the upper shell and the base of the car. so be careful with that. You will need to heat it up and reshape it to make it fit properly. Or just don't bother gluing the shell to the base. Follow the instructions step by step, otherwise certain parts will interfere with others and you wont be able to attach them properly. I made the mistake of leaving the hood for last, but by then the dashboard prevented me from properly gluing the hood on, so i had to make some alterations to make it acceptable.
