Reviews : Takom M4A1 76(w) HVSS Sherman

Just finished this kit of the rare M4A1E8 Sherman. While it didn't appear till very late WW2 in the ETO, there are some pictures of it in the field. These were eventually modified and sold off to the IDF by the French Government. Anyways, I don't recommend this kit to beginners, unless you have a few kits under your belt. More for experienced modelers. The kit comes with clear parts, some photoetch brass, copper wire for tow cable, metal barrel and slide molded styrene main gun barrel, decals and instructions, with paint call outs. I didn't see any flash on parts, but there is a little bit of clean-up of some parts but nothing major. The link tracks in my opinion were the easiest I've ever put together! These are the T66 type for the early HVSS suspension. Yes you have to glue the guide teeth or horns, on, but once you do that you just snap them together. You can also adjust the tension once you've installed the tracks. The suspension itself is a little bit fiddle and is meant to be working. I, however, opted for a non working suspension and glued everything in place. The kit does come with a nice tanker figure that is depicted on the box during a training exercise, shooting the .50 Caliber MG. I didn't build the figure, but shouldn't stop you. It is of nice detail and quality. Hope this helps. Ive posted pictures of the finished model on this site.
