Ok, this was different
This is a very different kind of kit when compared to your standard ship, plane, or car model. It's big, 17 inches stem to stern. Overall the kit is simple to assemble - at least the plastic pieces are (which fit very well together). The PE parts are a different matter. The strapping that holds the life rafts to the turret's side consist of 5 PE pieces that have to be glued together off the kit, then the top straps bent, and then glued over the top of the rafts. And then you have to bend and build the two baskets that attach to the back of the turret. Those PE parts are an exercise in tediousness; but with patience and care, you can make them look good. I'm glad I built it and now have 2 more of those type kits to build (the Bismark turret and the Mark 45 5 gun). I just wish there would have been detail inside the turret, as it is, it is just an empty shell.
