Challenging build
By: amahnk
This was probably my best build so far. Absolutely love the way it came out. But I can't ignore some of the more disappointing aspects of the kit, mainly the fact that virtually all of the engine detail is hidden away -- only the engine cover is visible through the rear window despite the entire engine existing beneath it. I'm not sure why Tamiya bothered with it while not allowing the rear to be opened. It's a baffling design choice. What is the point of modeling components that are impossible to see? Additionally, there were quite a few pieces that were extremely tricky to get into place. In particular the rear tail lights are multipiece with really tight tolerance that only get tighter after painting. I was also really bothered that the Acura/Honda badges included were NOT metal transfer despite their appearance. I discovered that they are merely transparent stickers that have to be cut to shape (!). Another baffling design choice especially considering other metal transfers were included for the side & rear mirrors. I had such an issue with these that I chose to omit them at no consequence in my opinion. On a positive note, the design of the car includes some very interesting shapes and it is impressive how well Tamiya was able to nail them in 1/24 scale. The interior of the car is really impressive. All in all this was long, challenging build that ultimately came out great. Would not recommend for the novice however.
Very detailed.

If you're looking for a challenging 1/24 scale model, then you won't be disappointed with this one (in my opinion). I've never seen so many pieces included in a kit of this size. The only complaints were the directions because some of the pictures were hard to figure out and the metal transfers- those things almost require hands of a surgeon because you have to cut them from the sheet. Overall it was a good kit to build.

Typical product 5 star rating. This kit was a good, easy build. I experimented with a metallic silver. The finish was great.i elicited to use a red oxide primer as a base interior color highlighted with black and graphite.
