A classic never goes out of style.

There may be some slightly more detailed versions of these around, as this was state of the art a number of years ago. However they are exactly what claim to be - 55 gallon barrels, jerry cans, and pails. Half of the barrels are dented, half new. Half of the jerry cans are WW2 US version, the other half WW2 Germany Army type. The pails, well, they are pails. These are a lot more useful than you might think and they show up on MV's all the time in pics. For the price you can't really go wrong, and you may want to consider if a more expensive resin version is really worth it.
Merely average...

The box says Nine German and Nine U.S. jerry cans. However, all of them have the opening on the center of the pour lip. German Jerry cans should have the opening on one side. Also, the caps on all of the jerry cans are molded in and look like little lumps of plastic, not a removable cap. And, all 18 jerry cans only have two handles on top instead of the 3 all WW2 jerry cans should have.
The drums and the buckets are great.
I would use the jerry cans in this kit for a lower layer of jerry cans with another layer of jerry cans stacked on top from a more detailed kit.
Tamiya, please add a 3rd handle

Ok, the price is right, but after getting this I remembered getting this set many years ago as a kid. All the jerry cans have only (2) handles instead of (3) Please Tamiya, you have great jerry cans in other kits. Please update this kit with them
The 50 gallon drums are ok, but the tops are flat instead of slightly domed, so they look a bit clunky. The buckets are great if you add a metal handle.
Good price, but it takes work to cut the handles off and fix with sprue or some other solution.
Great Diorama scenery

This is a good kit to pick up for your Vehicles, Diorama, or Figures that you want to Complement. Granted this kit has been on the market since the late 1970s or so. So some of the detailing is lacking as into the pour spouts on the Jerry cans or even the Jerry can handles. But with a little spure from your Spare parts box. This can be fixed with just some plastic bits and some glue. I have used this kit Many many times in my 47 years of Building Models. I love it!
Good For The Low Price
I needed Jerry Cans to go on a Pershing tank's storage rack. For a very inexpensive price I got this and I am not dissapointed. It includes dented oil drums and new oil drums, Axis and Allied Jerry cans that can also be used for ww2 or the Korean and Vietnam Era. Not to mention it has buckets that can be used for almost anything. I have more equipment than I need and can outfit multiple diaoramas and vehicles.
Just fine
No complaints other than the bucket handles are VERY fragile. You get both new and worn barrels; I based those in black, dry-brushed some burnt umber and then some bronze followed with a Light black wash for a great weathering effect. Nothing exciting of course but if you need the set pieces the price is just right.
nothing special, but quantity is what sells here
As headline says, its nothing really special. just bunch of cans. Main thing is number of them. i dont even know how much i pulled out from that box.
Its average upgrade set for diorama that wont take too much attention from your work, but it will be there to give final look.
Nice little Kit for Little Money.

I Just need some steel 55gal Drums so I got two kits. The dinged up ones are pretty cool. And now I have more 5gal cans than anyone could ever use. The buckets are cool and definitely usable even with modern vehicles. Nice all round Kit and excellent price.
Handles!!

A good product to help add to dioramas or vehicles. The option of the prestine and dented drums are nice. Be aware that the jerry cans only have two handles. I used floral wire and super glue to add the third. Great price.
There are many Tamiya kits of this subject...

...this is the first. I really appreciated the inclusion of buckets and the fact they include some 'dented' barrels. Detail on the jerry cans, particularly around the handles isn't great, but works.
Jerry cans and fuel.
Great for adding cans to armor. Looking at photos lots of cans were stacked on turrets. Buckets were used for painting or adding gas to tanks. Or added to back or used in diorama.
A ton of uses

This extremely simple set has a million uses. Make your diorama look instantly more realistic. Cant beat the price. Great for practicing painting techniques and looks.
Good for a junkyard

These can sets are good for a junkyard diorama. i made a junkyard diorama and i used these barrels and cans for some old scrap that was left there .
Barrels, buckets and cans
This kit is a must have times 3 for armor kit builds, esp. dioramas. The price cannot be beat and the quality is the same, top notch.
Great product

This is a great aesthetic for any diorama and would recommend for anyone doing military dioramas that need just a little more detail
Absoultely Awesome Accessory Kit
This kit is ideal for added realism to your transport trucks or for setting around in a diorama. An absolute MUST HAVE.
Can handles to thin
The handles for the buckets are to thin. I broke two just trying to cut them off spruce. But the other items are fine.
Nice addition to add realism to dioramas
Nice kit, well made with no flash, great price for a kit to add realism to AFV displays or dioramas. Highly recommend.
Excellent accessory kit.

I like to load up my AFVs with accessories; they look a little more interesting and personal and add detail.
Good addition
Really adds to the realism of any diorama or vehicle giving it an extra something.
