Reviews : Tamiya Barricade Set

These items represent the effort of the Germans to sink U.S. landing craft in World War Two at the beaches mainly at Normandy France. And they nearly succeeded except that the tides were in the favor of the Allies. Many of these barricades especially the iron beams were also blown up by the brave U.S. Navy Frogmen of the era. But not enough. This kit is an excellent replica of those barricades and what they were meant to do. I assembled mine by following the directions and although they look off center the completed set are correct. I painted and weathered mine to appear rusted as salt water and air would quickly do this to iron. I placed mine is a completed diorama that suggests action at D-Day landings.

Tamiya is a name to be recognized with quality. But this time they slipped a bit. In this kit a barricade can be assembled easily. No flashes. No injection marks impossible to remove. It adds a lot of realism to a batlle scene. But it does not hold in close inspection. The plastic looks just like it should, like plastic. NO detais in the iron, like solder marks. The wood is smoth like glass. It is possible to add all those detais yourself. But if you are going to do that then you should have made it all from scratch. And save some bucks. All in all, not a recomended product.

The variety of pieces and detail on them is great in this kit! Being able to have a kit of the iconic tank barricades of WWII in this scale at such a great price is so nice. The various pieces of the metal and wooden structures come unassembled so you can use them in different ways as you see fit in your scene.

This is a good kit of hedgehog tank traps and logs. I have used the logs on tanks. I built one hedgehog and it looks cool with some barb wire (not included) on it. I rusted it up pretty good. This is a hand set to have around and the price is great. Adds some extra eye candy to any diorama.

With this Kit you get Dragon teeth some logs to build either a fence or wooden triangles to block a road Can be used at a checkpoint or set the dragon teeth on a beach to restrict a landing

Need more details in painting. I’m a novice and i want it to look realistic. Otherwise I love all your products.

I would just have to say this is a nice kit but you could make them yourself and it will look just as good.

Just got to figure out how to put wire between these so it looks real
