This kit is just wonderful, and I think it would be an outstanding introductory model to a beginning modeler. Pros: First, the value to cost ratio makes it a great deal. The parts count is not out of the world, but enough to make the model detailed. This model also teaches to follow the steps, but also to plan ahead, forcing the modeler to be both patient and neat. This was not a chore, but a challenge. Most of all, it was a lot of fun and renders beautiful results. Big bonus, the pieces can be removed to show off the detailed interior. The soldiers can be posed inside or outside of the vehicle. There are small Cons. The .50 cal handles are toylike and the helmets for the soldiers are too small OR the heads of the soldiers are too big. That's it. Get this model and enjoy

This model is a great kit. Number 1, its a Tam product. Number 2, its a very accurate representation of the old reliable M113. There were really no problem areas with this model. Everything fit as designed and there were many nice areas. The interior is spot on accurate, the engine, transmission, and compartment are very detailed, and the accessories are nice to have. The one I built was taken after the ones from different Vietnam photos. Always dirty and lacking in some markings. I give this kit 2 thumbs up. It was a joy to build and paint. See my photos.

I liked this kit a lot. It includes and engine and figures and nice extra details. I have been in one of these actual vehicles, and it's neat to see the kit include the same details. The 'water break' rectangular piece in the front and the engine hatch can be positioned as you like after the thing is built (provided you don't glue them in place). Kit details, especially on the figures, is a bit dated. It's an oldie but goodie kit!

This is not a review (since I have not built it yet) however I am looking for models with relation to life events. I pulled up the M113 models... In Berlin I was part of a unit of M113s with TOW missile launchers but I have not found a model with this weapon package. I am considering getting the TOW/jeep model and working the launcher into one of the M113 model kits. has anyone seen a kit of the M113 with TOW missile launcher?

I built this kit 2 years ago when I started this hobby and didn't have any trouble at all. As always, Tamiya is a god when making models and this kit is very simple even with the internal details you can add. It's also fairly cheap in most stores including here. The best M113 compared to other model companies! The only struggle while making this is the fitting of the internal parts, it just requires patience

For an older kit this one is quite fun build. I did not come across any fit issues, all the pieces fit together well. I was surprised to see that this kit came with a fully detailed interior and engine compartment. The figure details are not great but they do certainly help bring the kit to life. There aren't too many pieces in this kit and you can opt to add any of the interior part if you close all the hatches.

This kit is a great deal at the price. The interior of the M113 is fairly accurate could use a little more detail but don't we all. It was by far one of the more simple kits to put together. I was a little bit disappointed at the options you can chose from. One thing i really enjoy about the finished track is that all the hatches doors and compartments all open and close.

There are several variants of M113's from Tamiya and I tried to copy with a cut-away of my own. The kit and build is good but the one thing that really lets this kit down is the included figures. Not sure how old this kit is but the figures are klunky.

I just got this model acouple weeks ago and I look forward to building it. All reviews that I seen say that it's an older kit but fun to build so I look forward to finishing it and who knows I might even get more.

I have built several of these. They go together well. The really nice part about this kit is that you can modify it into lots of different variants, just like the Army did to the real thing.

Great model kit. Full engine and interior detail. Easy build and can be used from Vietnam to the present.
