Reviews : Tamiya Russian T-62A Tank

This was fairly easy to build and a great addition to any tank collection. Russian tanks aren't known for being very glamorous and this is no exception. It is pretty dull but painting it a little darker and using the red star decal (ubiquitous to the Red Army) gives it a little more character. If you're new to modeling and looking for something easy to build, this is a good choice. Or if you're looking to add to an existing collection this is a great option, especially because of this tank's history.

This tank was an extremely easy build compared to other tanks of this scale. The road wheels were a breeze to assemble and attach to the lower hull. The Turret was also a dream to paint and has great details. I highly recommend using Tamiya acrylic paint because it does not get stuck in a your airbrush. I used Dark Green(XF-61) for the base coat and it looked great. The only con I have about this kit are the two piece turret. All in all a good kit.

I always made models with my dad but this is the first time I've done one by myself and painted it. Overall the kit was very very enjoyable to build, instructions were clear and easily understood, one thing i do not like about it is the way that the cannon is attached, it's awkward and was hard to attach well. This kit was really fun to build and I hope to build many more.

I saw this tank, the Soviet Era T-62A, when I was in Afghanistan in 2005-2006. The tank I built is an Afghan National Army version. I used an online picture and pictures I took in Afghanistan to replicate the vehicle markings and camouflage. The model was easy to build and instructions were is to follow. This is a good starter model or can be an excellent model to add upgrades to.

I seem to be stuck on Tamiya because I am lazy and prefer the one-piece tracks. This inexpensive kit goes together easily with clear instructions. However it is not an exciting kit, holds attention during the build but as one of my earliest model builds I cannot say I would return to it as a buy again. Details seem clear, accessories are few and the results very un-personalized.

This is a great kit from Tamiya. The details are nice and crisp, and very little clean up on the pieces. The instructions were easy to follow. I didn't have any issues with this kit. I would highly recommend this to the beginner up to the experienced modeler.

pretty good kit. not a lot to build on this kit but all in all a decent little kit. doesn't come with the usual extras that tamiya gives like shovels and etc. on the plus side it is bigger then it looks.

Addition to my sons collection, great looking kit. All parts look quality. Easy to read instructions. Great detail. Matches the Walker from same maker.

This kit really goes together nice. No flash and the fit is excellent. I used other decals to make a Republican Guard tank.
