One Bad A** tank
Personally i think the M60A1 is the most ascetically pleasing to the eye. That being said i had two minor issues that i feel i should mention here. The decals that i'm assuming should of came with my unopened kit were missing and The turret basket that comes with the kit is RIDICULOUSLY FRAGILE....i destroyed it just tiring to take it off the spru. I improvised and was able to come up with a suitable replacement without much grief. Overall i had fun building this kit. everything fits together nice. very little putty work. all in all i'd recommend this kit to any armor builder.
Good Kit, Tamiya
Tamiya in my opinion, one of the best designers. The problems and poor quality at times are already written in other reviews. All true. I thought I had a real mess on my hands at first and this is not like this company to do this. However because Tamiya is a professional scale builder and you engineer some of this a little different it ends up looking like artwork. A good model. Have some experience before getting this I think. I had great fun and you can see my crazy picks. The conversion on the mine roller went extremely well. As did mostly everything. Ron
Easy to build kit, gives impressive results
This kit is a nice build of an M60A1 with ERA. It is based on one of the older kits in the Tamiya line, but has held up pretty well. As with all Tamiya rubberband type tracks, I put a couple of staples across the track join to hold the ends together. Another hint is not to glue the drive sprockets in place before the track is added. If you thread the track around the wheels and fit the sprocket in place last with the track around it, it save stretching the track and possibly breaking it.
Great Model
I figure this would go great with the M1A1 Abrams and AAVP-7 that I already have built in the past . I thought this would be a better route to go buying Tamiya brand M-60A1 . As always Tamiya makes good quality model Tanks If you don't have one of these in the model tank collection you should . All easy to follow instructions never a flaw into the building process no hand fitting parts they all drop right in no problem . I would recommend this kit to any model tank builder .
Not Your Plain Tank Model
I picked this because of the extras and accessories, the Reactive Armor as an example. Makes it far more enjoyable than most kits, it's still one of my favorites to view on the shelf. Easy choice to make a return to the kit to make other variations and finished results. Would love to make a realistic battle scarred version sometime soon.
Fun
I really enjoyed this model. My only issue is that some of the larger pieces didn't seem to be molded that well and a lot of the marks to indicate where to glue pieces on it were missing or almost impossible to see. Also, the instructions recommend paint colors that aren't listed in the color key. Other than that it was great
Copperhead !!!!
Great model..2nd one I've done. No issues at all. Lots of parts, but very easy build. Tamiya did a great engineering job on this.very well detailed. Had a blast building this. Took a while but very well worth the money..looks great with or without the reactive armor. Comes with gear as well.
Like alot
This tank has been one of my favorites growing as a child. The big size they are one can imagine themselves operating it.Yes this was a great build and I hope to buy another one some time.
Both to be converted.
I was a Heavy Track Platoon Leader in the 16th Engineers and had 4 CEV's and 4 AVLB's in the 1970's. Both of these models are to be converted to these two vehicles.
Excellent kit
As always, a solid kit from Tamiya. Smart instructions, reliable castings, and good plastic. This kit still holds up against Takom’s M60A1
Excellent product
Great product to build after a long day at work. Didn't have any problem putting together and it looks better than the picture!
