Reviews : Tamiya US Gun M42 Duster

Was excited to get this kit and got right into it. Quite basic in construction, instructions were adequate. The rubber band tracks were a surprise, inc the duckbill end pieces on ea track. They fit perfectly as well... total of the suspension build was painting the rubber on the road wheels and return rollers. The Bofors twin mount offered good detail, gun barrels straight and flawless. I did drill out the bore and mounted the flash suppressors with the drill bit in place for perfect lineup. I am going with the M60 and the M2.50 both... this model will be static mounted with my Tamiya M41 Walker

Box artwork looks great and shows off the Duster well, but the kit itself is older or at least looks that way. Not that it is full of flash but the part lines are pretty heavy. The figures in my kit looked more like those 'plastic Marine soldiers' from Toy Story. To be honest for an AA armor piece there could have far more interior details and accessories than there was. Perhaps spoiled by Tamiya's Achilles Tank Destroyer, who knows. Definitely not a repeat build, more of a lower priced curiosity one. Still the grandkids get to keep it.

When making this, Tamiya definitely intended this to be motorized. And so I did! I love it! It was easy to put together and hard to make RC but im incredibly happy with it

Nice kit, everything went together great, no problems with any of the pieces. The was easy to assemble each piece had it's place and fit without any modifications.

Everything work together perfectly when doing this project only concern was the turret installation, however that work out great.
