Tanks for the Afrika Korps
In 1976 I had three of these Tigers in my Afrika Korps armor collection and all painted with Tamiya German Sand to blend into the desert in which I depicted each one! They were very well detailed for the age of the modern models beginning with Tamiya back then. The tracks were easy to place on the then complex suspension as the three rows of wheels had to be placed on the model in a certain sequence which was difficult as no one except Monogram had come out with such an enormous job. With prices of kits back then I could afford three tanks and have money left over to purchase the Tamiya up and coming Afrika Korps figures which went along side the tanks as in real life. Lots great memories with the kit.
Outstanding Kit

A very good kit. Tamiya has produced an exceptionally detailed kit. The figure in the turret is really detailed, and the instruction book also has placement for the photo-etched grills (not included). There are also six different markings for three different variants of the tank. It also includes a length of fabric tube for the exhaust. It is a nice detail that makes the tank more realistic however, the fabric frays easily and is a little hard to cut. Also, I would recommend putting the wheels on after you paint it, because of the overlapping suspension system. All in all, a very great addition to any modeler's collection.
Great Tamiya Kit, as always

This is yet another Tamiya kit that pretty much falls together. Fairly few parts, which makes for fast assembly. Also includes easy to complete rubber band tracks, and the kit gives good instructions as to how to assemble them. They are certainly much better than the annoying track links you will find on many kits from other brands. The detail is good, the instructions are clear, and it goes together really well. What more could you want from a kit? It comes together to create a realistic and fearsome model Tiger I tank, making it a must have for any World War Two armor modeller. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent basic no frills Early Tiger kit.

For the money, this is a great kit. Fit was very good, instructions clear and concise if perhaps a bit bland. Sprues and parts were clean with minimal flash. Decals worked as they should. Many folks do not like the 'rubber band' tracks but I have no problem with them. fast, easy, and getting the proper sag was not an issue with Super glue in the right places. I would gladly build this kit (and I will) again, which to me is the best way to judge any kit.
Awesome, great

I've just finished with the tiger. It's everything and more than I thought it would be. Just a beautiful model once it's together. It was a good enough challenge but easy enough. Everything literally fell into place. The detail is spectacular. It's one you must have if you like a great looking model. I can't say enough about it. Four different versions with paint schemes. Tamiya was on point with this one. I want another one.
Long ago memories

I remember building a couple of these kits when I was around twelve years old in 1972. Tamiya kits were my favorites,I also had several other Tamiya tank kits. A few were motorized, I would spend a lot of time building them in the basement with the radio playing. I had M-41,M-60a1 and a2 and the tiger1 and the Jagpanther lots of fun. Of course they were a lot cheaper then, you could buy them for less than $7-8. Yall have fun.
Awesome First Armor Kit

This was an awesome kit, All the parts fit perfectly. The instructions and coloring information was very detailed and left no doubt how to assemble this kit.
Pro's Great detail and easy to follow instructions. All the pieces fit together quite nicely with little trimming required.
Con's Can not think of any.
Would like to have seen pictures of the box and sprues in the item view.
Tamiya German Tiger I Early Production Tank
This is an older Tamiya kit of the Tiger I Early Production tank. Even though the kit is older it is still well molded and well thought out for construction. I will probably get a replacement metal barrel and replacement tracks as the included ones are vinyl. Regardless it an excellent value and I look forward to building it.
excellent model from tamiya...

this was a great kit to build. no probs at all. all parts fit well. no flashing to speak of. I think this is one of the better tigers to build..it comes with many versions. I went with the older version to go along wit my Pommern collection. for a diorama. if you are looking for something easy but versatile? this is it.
No German WW2 Diorama is complete without a Tiger Tank!
I bought this Tiger as a first tank kit to get back into modeling and then devised a huge diorama to showcase this and many other models. I have also bought the Eduard upgrade it and will make this an even more challenging build. I will upload some pics when complete and ready for weathering.
FANTASTIC MODEL

This worked great for getting back into modeling. Took my time so my own skills came back to me, and learned new skills along the way. I don't have an airbrush, so I primed with gray primer spray, then paint brushes from there. Everything fit together nicely, had no issues with it.
outstanding model kit

this was my first kit I have completed it over 10 years and it was the best kit . The kit was easy to build and the directions where easy to follow. I really enjoyed this model. the only con i have is it came with a machine gun for the commanders hatch, but theirs no mount for it.
Fun kit to build!

I love a great Tiger kit! This one is really good! There are some very minor historical inaccuracies on it, but they can be fixed easily. I had a lot of fun building this kit! It comes out looking very nice when painted and weathered. I highly recommend this kit!
Another good Tamiya kit
Trying to increase my collection of models during lockdown, need something to do. This was a good choice. Everything fit no filling needed and only had to trim pieces where they were attached to the sprues. Like the finished product. Get this for a fun build.
Like alot
This is my first tiger tank build and I thought it was a great one.I found fastening the tracks together with staples works fantastic. If anyone else has had problems keeping the together with.It takes some steady hands but it's well worth it.
Great kit to build a lot of fun
Another great fun Tamiya kit, no flash and easy fit and build. Enough external detail to make it good great. I added the photo etch grille kit for more detail. Overall a beautiful kit which I recommend to everyone. Five stars!
Tiger 1 early production
This tank was be ok the only problem I ran into was the instructions because u had to pick a early or late model which took different parts.also the tracks I like the rubber tracks but these were hard to keep togethe.
Nice kit
Nice Tamiya kit for a decent price. The details are nice and crisp, and the instructions are easy to follow. I'm not a big fan of the rubber band tracks, but I was able to find some after market replacements.
LIKE THE REAL THING

The German tank was fun to build and the authenticity was far beyond what I had expected. Once the decals were put on it seemed to come to life. Fits right in with my other WWII models.

After looking at the picture, this model I was very interested in ordering because it looks easy to build and it could be used for many seems or whatever you decide to make.
A fun build of a classic piece of German armor.

Great (but not too excessive) detail make this an excellent and fun kit to build. Can't think of anything negative.
