Reviews : Tamiya US M8 Lt. Track Greyhound

The Greyhound has always been a favorite if not a real crowd pleaser. The details and construction on the kit abound and there is always room for more. I recently added all four crew figures from a mix of Tamiya figures and found many uses for the equipment kits in my spares box. The fit of the parts is well thought out by Tamiya and the overall assembly is very easily done. I left off the machine gun ring to be used on another model but this did not take away any of the appeal of the model.

This kit looks like a typical Tamiya kit, very clear instructions and a low parts count- about 200 parts. It is much better then the older Italeri kit. The parts have no flash on them and have nice, crisp details. I did get the Eduard photo etched upgrade kit to add some interior detail. I am going to build it with the fenders on, they just look too cool not to include them. There is a decal sheet for three vehicle options.

Typical Tamiya kit. Hardly any flash just about perfect fit. The ability to make different variants. Along with some extra stowage to add on. With very little research on the real thing. Just, about any level modeler can build a realistic looking M8.

This model is a fun and detailed build that looks great when finished. There are many ways you can go with this model, whether it is in a diorama or not. It comes with clear instructions and plastic parts that fit well and are very detailed.

The Tamiya Greyhound model is a great kit. The pieces fit great with virtually no trimming and the directions were clear and easy to follow. However, compared to other Tamiya kits, there is very little in the way of accessories.

Another easy build for the novice, very similar to the German scout car and easy to assemble but lacks accessories which can be added on. A quick build and camo can be added for effect.

Very little flash on parts and options to make several variants of the vehicle.
