Fun easy build
It's as you would expect from a Tamiya kit- good quality and decent fit. This kit is very easy to put together, ideal for a younger builder, someone working on a school project, or even an experienced modeler who needs a break from the more complex kits. I was in the latter group, wanted something to work on that didn't involve masking canopies or fooling with camo patterns. My first thought was to build it in a diorama, but upon closer inspection I found the surface of the model still had the tool marks from the original clay model. I thought this was kind of interesting so I decided to keep the tool marks and make it look like a bronze statue. There's a little bit of seam work, and the open mouth just opens into the body cavity. I used apoxy sculpt to make a mouth and tongue. Then just painted and dry brushed a bit. For the money, it's a great kit.
