Minor issues
By: masterchief191
This kit is okay and easy. However there are some part fitment issues. The greatest is the motor mounts, they do not go with the cauling properly and require a great deal of sanding to get the to fit. With that said, it makes mounting the motor and prop in correct alignment a bit tricky. Also, the gears take a bit extra to get proper aignment. Besides that, it's pretty straight forward. I suggest tamiya paint with it, although you will need extra on the side. I primed these but the paint still didn't sit well, required extra sanding to finish. I did 2 of these at one time and the one I did with flat white spray from Testors actually came out a bit better once clear coat was applied. The Tamiya spray didn't stick to well even with the primer. But, as said, use tamiya for everything else.
Great model for beginners
This model is state of the art. It has stunning detail even with a full interior with engine and cockpit. Have done only a few models before and was easy to assemble. Good for modeler's who do not have lots and lots of experience recommend this personally note use multiple coats of paint for high quality. Did not take long to build only 1-2 days. Tamiya is a great brand and makes Revell look bad recommend to tap (add to list) before out of stock
Great Kit for the Price!

I really enjoyed building this model. I added an eduards self adhesive photo-etched set for the cockpit, and the 20mm cannons from quickboost (Hobbyinc item #QUB48603) as well. The fit of this kit is very good, and even a beginner modeler can get an excellent result. The decals are good but a little on the thick side. Decal setting fluid is recommended. At this price I think I will get a couple more and have a wing of these.
Great Kit

Great kit all around, no imperfections in any pieces and easy assembly. Only two complaints ? first the writing was all completely in Japanese so if it wasn't for the pictures to guide it would've taken forever. Second the canopy had issues being put on the plane flush and has some gaps. Other than that great model and a great piece of history to build.
Great Tamiya Quality on a Classic

If you're planning on building any WWII model planes, then the Zero Fighter is a must buy. It's a classic WWII plane along with the Mustangs and whatnot.
Being a Tamiya kit, the fitting and molding is excellent. The few things that needed work can easily be sanded out with a few strokes of sandpaper.
I definitely recommend this plane.
Another of my favy enemy planes
Love the Japanese zeros. Was one of the fastest japanese planes of its era. Excellent detail on this kit. I hung this one in air used a P-51D as a arial combat scenario. Was a awesome addition to my WWII collection. Also used a Japanese figurine set for when i set it on shelf for ground display. Very nice kit.
my first kit by tamiya

nice detail but fuselage was difficult to line up but biggest problem was the direction were hard to follow due to so much writing in different langueges and symbols used.
must go slow, be patient and read and double check before you glue or paint.
it was a nice challenge
Fun and easy

This classic Tamiya kit is very simple to assemble, with only ten directions in total, however like most other Tamiya kits, its difficulty level is not indicative of the kit's level of detail; far from it, in fact. This model is still very nice looking once completed.
Nice kit for beginner or advanced modeler.

Painting guide not as good as other Tamiya kits but overall a good kit to build a pretty accurate Zero! Once done will hang from sons ceiling. He is 11 and likes building models with his dad and this kit is another good one for him to improve his skills.
Great Kit

This model is typical Tamiya, goes together with no problems and makes a nicely detailed kit. Everything just fits. Also not too much detail and fiddly little bits so that it's a good kit for a beginner too. Highly recommended.
Nice plane
This plane is top quality as expected from Tamiya. The fitting is perfect and the detail is pretty good. The decals are very nice too. I totally recommend this plane to beginners for its cheap price and easy assembly.
