Reviews : Tamiya Isshiki Rikko Type 11 Betty Aircraft

This is a very well done kit. The fit is very good. Details are very good. I built mine as the torpedo version. This required careful trimming of the bomb bay door. Assembly is well organized and flows very well. The only slight change Tamiya should do is to make the decals a little thinner. The decals went on very well but due to the thickness, detail there the decal are hard to bring out. I would recommend this kit.

Typical Tamiya quality. There are some very small differences (night fighter) throughout the build. The fit was excellent, and there's a fairly detailed cockpit with figures. Ordinance is limited to one torpedo, 12 small bombs, or nothing (recon). Decals are just enough, but nothing too detailed.

Lots of detail, actually comes with pilots in a sitting position( which I personally prefer) and I plan on building a 1/48 scale ohka and mounting it underneath. Pieces fit together nicely and instructions are easy to follow.

After not building models for over 40 years I am amazed at the amount of detail that are in the new kits. This kit was a lot of fun building and relearning how to build a detailed model. Tamiya kits are top of the line.

Bought the kit, can't wait to build the betty, has alot of sentimental meaning, my father shot one of these down over china, have the actual wing tank patch from the betty, will make a great pair!

The usual Tamiya quality. Everything fits. No extra flash. Superb instructions. And options to build.
