Reviews : Tamiya Vought F4U-1D Corsair Fighter Aircraft

I started to use Tamiya models over others , some months ago I build the USS New Jersey by Tamiya the parts and quality made a great experience and better model. This Corsair F4U-1D will be part of my many WW2 aircraft , opening the box and seeing the parts and trees you can see it’s made much better and reviews from other builders say this is the higher quality model . The shipping and time from Hobbylinc was faster then they said and the item was packed very well and perfect. Thank you for my first great experience with you.

Yet another example of a how good Tamiya kits are. This was a great kit to build and turned out very nice. All the pieces fit together perfectly and had quality detail. All parts were formed well and had no imperfections. The instructions were clear, to the point, and offered different options for units that the aircraft belonged to. The detail of the cockpit left something to be desired, but it is still nice enough to display with the canopy open. For the price and quality, this model can not be beat.

No flash, simple to build, clear instructions, detailed. Only thing preventing 5 stars is the fact I like to hang models from ceiling to appear as flying. This configuration was not possible without modification, which I did. The pilot it came with was meant to stand on the wing and flaps are down for air brake effect and it does not come with landing gear option for the up position. But for a ground model it is perfect and even has folding wings option.

Tamiya kits are expertly engineered and designed for people who know what they are doing. This aircraft has lots of complex curves and shapes around the wings and Tamiya found a way to design the parts to fit well and still be sturdy. Get this kit and enjoy doing what we all love to do. Building these kits is an art form and Tamiya kits make a great canvas to work from.

This is one of the worst models I have ever tried to build. Many of the holes requiring opening were non existent. Unless you are an avid modeler, with tools to reengineer the final product, this model isn't worth the extra time.

Had fun with this one. Very detailed. Be careful about putting the rear wings on and make sure they line up when joining the fuselage. Otherwise this is definitely a favorite.

Model itself was straight forward in assembly. Painting seem to show colors that were not in the guide. Internet helped fillin the gaps

Easy and quick kit to build. This was the first kit of this plane. I enjoyed it very much.

Great model. easy to put together and very simple.
