Reviews : Tamiya German Bismarck Battleship Boat

This is an excellent kit for the price. The kit is very solid and well built. No warped or missing parts and very little fitting to repair. The hull, 3 piece deck, superstructure, turrets are very well detailed and fit very well together and Tamiya also includes the sketches for the Bismarck's dazzle camouflage paint schemes. This kit does not have the railings included for the die hard enthusiast but I have been told are available in a photo etching kit that might still be available through Tamiya. Exercise caution when removing masts from moulded carrier and also aligning the propeller shaft struts on the hull. If you are off a degree the shafts will not sit properly and look bent. You will also need to use putty in these areas to ensure the struts and shafts exit points from the hull look smooth before painting. All in all a great kit!

I throughly enjoy assembling this model. The instruction are easy to understand and the paint detail leave no room for guessing. The model doesn't have a over whelming amount of small parts. Most of all the parts fit perfectly. The only problem I had was the main deck not aligning up. So I strongly recommend fitting the main deck in place before glueing.You can't go wrong if you add this ship to your collection. Highly recommended.

A VERY GOOD KIT THAT WAS FUN TO PUT TOGETHER, HIGHLY DETAILED, GREAT INSTRUCTIONS AND DETAILS ABOUT THE SHIP, PAINTING WAS FUN WITH THE CAMO PAINTING SCHEME, WAS FIRST TIME DOING THIS AND IT TURNED OUT GREAT WAS VERY CHALLENGING BUT IT TURNED OUT GREAT , LOVE THE LOOK, PUT THE WOOD DECK ON IT AND STAINED IT AND PUR DARK WASH ON IT TO GIVE IT A USED LOOK, LOTS OF FUN AND EDUCATIONAL

The packing was excellent, trees were bagged individually except a few that were doubled with foam separation the tree's. Care was taken in all parts. Building this kit was exciting with tons of detail, the tooling was also excellent along with building pictures. Over all no complaints what so ever. JOB WELL DONE!

This kit was a lot of fun to build. The instructions for putting it together and painting were very detailed and all of the pieces fit together nicely. It is a solid kit for beginner ship builders. Overall I have no complaints about this kit.

This kit has a lot of detail and has been a pleasure to build. There were a couple of marred parts due to pour manufacture but nothing I wasn't able to hide. A great kit for the price.

This is going to be a total joy to build, I ordered the super upgrade kit for it, anchor chain, wood deck. Pe sheets for radar, ladders, railings. Can't wait to get started on her.

Loved building this kit, great detail, and it's big, still need to build a shelf for it, but I enjoyed building it. All the parts fit well, and requires little clean up.

Fun build, instructions where a bit hard to follow and didn't show part placement the best, but still overall it was a fun kit

Tamiya has a set of eight battleship models in 1/350 that came out a while ago. They are fun and easy builds.
