Reviews : Tamiya Acrylic XF59 Desert Yellow 3/4 oz

Tamiya makes the hobby paint on the planet. Its so easy to work with. The coverage is awesome. At first, coming from Testors, I was hesitant because Testors is so thin and barely covers. Once I used it, it was a game changer. I will be switching all my paints to Tamiya.

This paint needs absolutely no thinner if you're using a brush to apply it. This color is absolutely perfect for everything from military kits to the interiors of auto and truck kits, makes for a great neutral color that looks sharp with most any other color.

This seems liek a decent color for modern desert military vehicles. The Tamiya XF series paints are all great. They dry very fast, though, so you might need thinner or the retarder for brushing larger areas.

Paint to Thinner range 2:1 to 1:1 for airbrushing depending on air pressure, paint volume and distance from subject. Experiment on scrap plastic first.

I used this color to cover WW II tanks that would be colored with dunkelgelb. It's a closer substitute than the Tamiya Dark Yellow.

This is a great paint. Great price too. Very sharp color. May require additional thinner to apply properly to plastic model

Tamiya acrylic paints are right up there at top of the line. Not watered down thin, like a lot of the other brands.

Excellent color that goes well with browns and oranges. Nice desert look about it.
