Tricky but not terrible
By: clunymike
Note: this doesn't actually look like chrome. It's pretty close, but it's too grainy. Like most paints that try to imitate a metallic substance, it gets the color right, but not the visual texture. Maybe there's a trick to getting it to look just like chrome, but I haven't found it. That being said, it's probably one of the best products of its kind. I like the smaller pot because it's not a color that is used a ton. It's pretty nice for anything that needs a chromey sort of look. I'll even use it for parts of landing gear struts. I have not tried it from an airbrush, but for the paint brush you have to be a little careful. You should thin it, but it's a tough balance between getting good coverage without brushstrokes. I usually use one drop of water to 10 parts of paint, but definitely experiment!
Not really a true chrome acrylic paint, but still good stuff

If you're expecting a perfectly shiny chrome-silver finish, this may not be the best paint for you and you should consider a NMF paint instead. However, this produces a decent, although somewhat granular silvery finish. You also need to be sure to mix and thin it well for best results; a bit of experimentation may be required.
Best model paint by far

Tamiya makes the hobby paint on the planet. Its so easy to work with. The coverage is awesome. At first, coming from Testors, I was hesitant because Testors is so thin and barely covers. Once I used it, it was a game changer. I will be switching all my paints to Tamiya.
Good chrome paint overall

This is a decent chrome. It will be a flatter finish even tho its a gloss paint. There are other brands that deliver a metal luster that is more deep but this is good for many applications.

This is the closest I've been able to find that resembles aluminum that is not metallic.
