Reviews : Tamiya Spray Lacquer TS45 Pearl White 3 oz

If you are a sci-fi builder, particularly the Star Trek movie era ships (Enterprise Refit, Enterprise -A, Reliant, Excelsior and Enterprise -B), this is the perfect base coat to use. Whether you choose to use Aztec pattern decals or not, the pearl effect gives the hull that desired shimmer for that scale. This would also work well with the most recent release of the Moebius 22001: A Space Odyssey Orion III Shuttle which comes with panel decals, saving the modeler from having to mask them off individually. Like with any Lacquer paint, only use this product where you have adequate ventilation and if possible, a breathing filter. Allow the paint to set and dry overnight and you'll be ready to go to the next phase of your build. Build On! S

I have searched many hobby stores, department, and other places online and I can honestly say that I saved HOBBYLINC immediately!!! I am a veteran from both wars, and retired and now am picking up a hobby that will help me on my road to recovery. Tamiya paints probably are the best, though Model Master is good to. My experience with this pearl white is it took quite a few coats to get a good strong color. I suggest a white primer, I used grey and maybe why it took so many coats. The day I sprayed it was pretty hot and humid (I have to spray in my garage), most likely reason I couldn't get a nice shine. Spray lays nice and smooth. I do recommend, it is a nice color.

I used this paint to get the base coat for the USS Enterprise 1701B - you have to see it in person to really grasp how good it looks! Nice shimmering pearlescent effect. Enough in there to paint four model kits, possibly more depending on scale.

Tamiya paints are the best out there. Easy to use, fast drying, smooth application. This pearl white is such a beautiful color. Its screams to be on a convertible. I have used it to simulate the Parchment GM interiors too.

A dusting of this pearl white is a great finish coat for classic Star Trek Enterprise kits. The paint sprays finely and evenly, with good control for a spay can.

It's got a great pearl tone.but don't cover at all.need white base under it.but very pretty color

This paint was really good, other than the Pearl is hard to see. almost just looks kinda creamy white.
