Just get an X-Acto or Model Master blade
For what this is, It'll work ok. I bought one way back in the day. But you can spend just a few dollars more and get either an X-Acto or even a Testors Model Master knife that not only has a far better constructed gripping surface but allows you to change out the blades. So your first pack of replacement blades will pay for the whole setup over the cost of replacing these plastic handled knives each time.
Good for the quick jobs.

I keep a small supply of three or four of these knives on hand for the quick jobs like trimming excess plastic off model parts, disconnecting parts from sprues, or just cleaning up pieces. I find this knife perfect for such jobs. Just remember that every time you use it you dull it. The razor edge only lasts so long, and then it's time to toss it and grab a new knife.

this tool can be verry helpful in detialing my ship models i use it for cutting out decals so you dont accidenly cut decals in half with sisers or i cut out small parts with it so i dont break the part trying to twist it off this knife can also be helpfull in removing seams and extra plastic of parts.
Standard Knife Necessary
This is the standard knife at hobby shops across the U.S. I just bough my third, as its necessary and useful. If you want a model to look good, you need a knife to cut from the sprue. This is the cheapest, and won't dull for several months of daily usage.
sharp endurance

Honestly, I amazed at how long this blade lasts for the money. This blade has stayed sharp through 5 models, scraping seems, flash, decals, trimming miss-fit parts. Seems it has lasted longer then my Xacto or Excel blades
Pretty descent
Pretty descent knife for the money, good for starting, but for more precise work more solid knife with interchangeable blades will be way better.
