Nice kit
By: pitbullsfamily
A nice easy build that can be the platform for many open loads. The kit is nicely detailed from regular viewing angles. The only issues I found concerned with weight and coupler height. First off, if using the supplied weight between the under frame bottom of deck, the coupler height comes out very high. I did not use this weight and I basically resolved this issue. I was able to get the coupler height right on with an overset shank Kadee coupler. As is typical of a flat car, it is under the weight recommended by the NMRA. I added weight by securing bb’s to the underside between the frame and sidesills. I was careful not to interfere with the wheels. Unfortunately steel bbs do not bring the weight up to proper weight. Lead shot would be a better choice to add weight. However, care must be used if doing so due to the hazards of lead. I think this kit is a great choice for those who like to build and tinker. I have a handful of these rolling on my railroad.

Excellent kit to learn on. Easy to build. I built two of them for my wife's Christmas train set to haul a Christmas and Happy New Year containers. They were painted Christmas green. I used the supplied weights. I tried the trucks on with and without the provided weights and the height was the same, as the top of the trucks are flat and only go down as far as the attachment post bottom.

Very easy kit with no brake detail. Quick build but looks quite good for something so easy to put together.
