Reviews : Trumpeter M1133 Stryker Medical Evacuation Vehicle (MEV)

Once again Trumpeter did not disappoint. I am really starting to like the quality of the Trumpeter brand. This was the third Stryker variant I have built and the second Trumpeter. The parts fit together very nicely leaving no gaps anywhere. The parts are very durable coming off the sprue, even down to the smallest brackets around the headlights. The only negative thing I can say about these Stryker kits is the lack of interior detail. I would love to see the detail built into the kit or either Eduard, or someone like them, come out with an add-on kit for interior details. This would allow for the hatches to be left open and the rear ramp to be down as is shown on the cover of the box. The kit is easy to assemble with absolute minimal trimming and filing being required. I intend to continue with my Stryker collection, adding more variants which I can hopefully get from Trumpeter as well. I fully recommend this brand if you are going to build a Stryker.

This is a well detailed kit. There is little to no flash on the pieces. The kit comes with some photo etch parts as well as some paper parts for MRE and soda cases. This kit would be good for any modeler. The photo etch parts are simple to use for someone who as never used PE parts before.

This builds into a very nice model with no surprises. The parts are easy to handle. The large red crosses would seem to make a good aiming point, so some non-penetrating weapon hits were made on them.

The parts were very hard to trim off the tree but overall the detail level was ok. Not what i excepted from the kit.

As a novice builder, the instructions seem a little complex but it will be worth it to complete the model.
