Unboxing first impressions are excellent! I would expect this as this it is a very competitive 2025 model. Pros: 1. The panel lines are crisp and with good airbrush control you can preserve a lot of detail on this kit. PLA aircraft are full of panels and the J-10C is a visually interesting specimen to say the least. The details are exceptional in the cockpit, almost resin printed quality. The decals provided will require setting and softening solution to settle nicely into these intricate details. The glass cockpit display features will also settle well in the same manner. 2. Flash is very minimal and easy to take care of. 3. There are some photoetched parts, mainly the seatbelts and a small antenna at the rear underside of the fuselage (RWR?). Neutral: 1. Lots of drilling on this kit, make sure you have a good pin vise and appropriate dills before you begin. Negatives: 1. This kit's weapons are better suited for the J-10C's air-to-air role with up to 4 PL-15s and 2 PL-10s. As such, the K/PTZ-1A targeting pod and K/RKL-700A ECM pod are not necessary. I only found one image of both mounted on the J-10C and it was clearly configured for an air-to-ground mission. There are some images of the the K/PTZ-1A mounted in an air-to-air role, but mostly when carrying inert/trainer AAMs (blue bodies). 2. On page 21 of the instructions, it clearly shows to mount the K/PTZ-1A backwards. Round end to the front if you want to make it true. The bulbous end to the front please! Time to build!

Excellent Kit, I liked how the package arrived early, very carefully packaged and neat. Overall, just as I expected.
