this is great for that stacked rock wall look
I have several molds I like to use but this one is good for the kind of stacked wall of rock. It's not too deep that it will protrude from the back of your layout too far (or wherever you put yours), but the detail looks great! I used this one on one layout to create my backdrop, because I didn't really want those picture back drops, while they're nice, I couldn't find one that really had enough depth for what I was really looking for. So I put a foam board around the edges and across the back that stood up so it looked more like my train ran in front of this rock wall type of space (it also allows me to add to the other side when I finish the front of it and just expand the rock face to the other side- like a mountain kind of). I love the castings that come out of this mold. They're very detailed and perfect for what I use them for (and if you need a lot of rock formations, it's a WHOLE lot cheaper to make them from a casting than to buy the pre-made ones).
Cliff Hanger
Nice rocks. What can I say? If you've every made rock molds, these are just the same as any other. Very easy to use, very detailed and perfect for cliffs, ledges and jagged outcrops. This is the 3rd I've used and they all come out perfectly, just make sure you mix properly and allow ample drying time of your plaster. Usually within 2-3 hours you can remove from them mold and leave to finish curing overnight before painting etc. If done right almost no flashing left to remove or little to no sanding.
Great molded rocks...
If you are looking for a set of molded rocks for your diorama or train layout this set is perfect... The mold features excellent sculpt detail that can be further detailed with some light sanding and painting after cured... If you need a ledge for an established rock face or just some random rock formations this mold accommodates both... Recommended purchase...
Most versatile mold for natural rock building blocks
These long slender rocks can be cut on a simple jig saw of by hand a glued and blended together with more Sculptamnold to form a light weight removable hollow shell to hide the mechanisms that animate my layout. While they build like bricks, they look like natural rock. I'll include a picture of my small mountain.
Shelf rock mold
The rocks produced from the mold looked exactly like the shelf rock I was looking for.
