Excellent Project
By: ronwalk38
The Als Gas Station is a nice stylist building with three different gas pumps options, three different styles of road side signage, and several other accessories to add to a realistic service station scenery. The inspection of the kit revealed very little molding flash, all the parts where straight, and accounted for. The directions were clear and easy to follow; but took a little work to get all the building corners and foundation to fit together correctly and seamless. This kit was molded in all white and the walls were thin, which may cause some problem with adding an interior light. I printed the garage doors, building doors, windows frames and top row of structures bricks red; which give the building a nice modern look. Overall this was a great project and fit well in my city district scenery.
typical high quality Walthers structure
Nicely detailed building, moderately difficult to assemble with easy directions to follow for the most part. Highly recommend to dry fit all parts before cementing them in place. Model comes in white plastic and clear glass, highly recommended to add painted detail to make your version distinctive and to bring it to life. Comes with 3 different types of Gas pumps so can Model any era from 1900 to modern times. Typical high quality Walthers' structure and would recommend it without reservation.
Nice building
Kit is typical of Walters quality. Includes 3 different pumps for 1950-1960's eras. Assembly is easy for any skill level. Further detailing is up to the individual. I added interior bay details from JL iInovative Designs and office and backroom details from Palace Caar Co. Recommend this kit as a nice addition to a layout for a resonable price.
A Good Building Needing a Good Base

Difficulty: Beginner
Pros: Comes with multiple sign and gas pump options. Good building design.
Cons: Doesn’t come with the concrete pad shown the picture I took. Painting the pumps and building can be a bit tricky to get looking right since they are so small.
nice representation of a 1950s gas station

I used some medium black sewing thread glued to the side of the gas pumps to represent the gas hoses. Also painted the interior walls and added a balsa wood lift with a car in the left bay.

Found this model easy to assemble, dry fitting is always recommended. I especially like the adaptation to multiple era's with the different pumps available.

Great kit. Has pieces to cover every era of this design. Logo and word applied with water and are super thin so be careful and take your time.
