BLUF: This is one of the worst F-16 kits in this scale. Stop reading and go find the Tamiya, Hasegawa, or Kinetic kits in Hobbylinc's search bar. They are all more expensive, and after a 20 minutes with kit you'll understand why. This just Italeri's 1994 F-16C kit reboxed with new decals, and it's only the decals and instructions that saved it from a one star review. You get a fully updated decal sheet beautifully printed with six different aircraft options and dull stenciling for a late model Viper. You also get full color painting & marking instructions that are very clear and have an excellent color match to the real paint. But it's all downhill from there. The landing gear are terrible. They are fragile and weak. They also make the jet sit with a weird sightly nose up attitude. The cockpit it F-16ish, and comes with a decent ACES II seat. But the controls, switches, and panels don't correspond to any F-16 ever made. There's quite a bit of gap filling if you want the canopy closed and quite a bit of fiddling to get it centered and even if you want it open. The panel lines across the fuselage & wings are nicely done. Deep enough to take a wash but not overly done. They aren't entirely accurate, but they are well molded. The armament is chunky. The AIM-120s are older large fin As even though the instructions show clipped fin Cs. There are two semi-decent AIM-9Ms. It comes with four cluster bombs as the only air to ground. The AIM-120s being a generation too old is besides the point, because every launch rail in the kit is the S210, which can't carry or launch the AMRAAM. The S210 is only compatible with the Sidewinder. If you want to realistically put AMRAAMs on this, you'll need to scavenge some LAU-129s from wherever you can. The stabilators are molded with the upper fuselage and on both of these kits I've built (a few years apart) they had uneven angles that needed to be sorted out. There will be some moderate seams all around the upper & lower fuselage pieces once you join them, and the intake is a nightmare. If you love the challenge of fixing kit errors and building challenges - and you're not particular about your level of accuracy - this may be the kit for you. I'd say spend the extra money on the Tamiya kit in the first place.
