I love the planes from the Korean War. That is the only reason I built the Cougar from Kitty Hawk. Would have liked a kit from another manufacture. PRO'S: This kit has a lot of options such as a full gun compartment, wings folded in or extended. Build either a F9F-8 or F9F-8P. Build either early sea blue or gray & white colors. I chose the sea blue. Add either drop tanks and ordnance. The F9F-8P has a full camera compartment which you can leave the doors open and see all of it. Detail is good all around. Decals for 5 different aircraft. Included is the Blue Angles version. Nice color pictures of each version. PE parts included. CON'S: The instruction book is big for a kit this size but has a lot of short comings. For example you get two different seats to choose from. But no idea which seat for which version you are building. Which lights to use or intakes for the engines. When to drill holes for what part you might need to add. What color to paint the cockpit, gun bay, camera bay. Things fit together bad. Trouble getting the fuselage and wings to fit. Filler needed. Decals are nice but hard to get them to line up with each other at the nose and tail section. I built the sea blue version with the wings extended and removed the nose refueling prob. Added the drop tanks and rocket just because I didn't want to fill in the locations on the wings. They do not come covered. I did not install the guns in the nose. You can not see them. So I am building that all separate and setting them on a stand next to the plane. It looks good except for the decals on the nose. Spent more time then normal and you better be a experienced build. I love the looks of it, but I did not enjoy building it.
