Avia C.2 1/72 Scale Kit Review
This 1/72 scale kit comes from the well-known Czech modeling company called Special Hobby. The pros for this kit are as follows: You have three paint schemes to choose from and the one I did is on the cover of the box called Avia C.2-615, UB-38 Letecké U?iiišt? (Aviation School in Czech) Prost?jov, or P Š-II Piešt´any, 1950. The other two paint schemes included are Avia C.2-010 (originally Arado Ar 96B), UL-41, 5. letecké školní pluk (Aviation Regiment School in Czech) Zvolen. The last paint scheme included is Avia C.2-223, UF-14, 4 letecké školní pluk Letecké U?iiišt? Prost?jov, Prost?jov Štichovice airfield, 1950. This kit has some good options pending on what paint scheme you can do. For the most part, the components have good fits with minimal sanding though some gaps needed to be filled in.
The cons for this kit are as follows: Making a slit on PUR 7 so that photo-etch piece 7 can slip in for the bomb rack was impossible to accomplish due to how small the piece is so I didn’t bother doing it. Even though the decals were quite easy to get off the paper folded over easily too. I accidently ripped some of them but they were easy fixes to work with.
In conclusion, I give this kit a rating of 4 stars out of 5. Special Hobby if you’re reading this I highly recommend that you make your decals a lot more durable and have PE 8, PUR 7, and PE 7 be all in one piece instead of a three piece assembly. Other than that it’s a solid kit through and through.
