This was a really great and fun model to work on as everything fit together in an excellent manner. Think this would be an excellent model for a beginner.

This is indeed a fun build of an interesting subject. BUT this is NOT a Tamiya kit. Its a Tamiya boxing of an Italeri kit. The box literally says the parts are an Italeri product. Its Tamiya instructions and color call outs. And I'm pretty sure the figures are Tamiya. But the parts are not. So the fit, while good, is not Tamiya good. Not a reason not to do the kit as I never expect other moldings to match Tamiya. The cockpit goes together nicely. The fuselage joins with no problem. The wing joins the fuselage also without issue. The decals I am also pretty sure are not Tamiya. First because Tamiya in my experience gives you the swastikas and lets you decide to use them or not. This kit doesn't have the option. Second because I don't think Tamiya would have printed the instrument panel decal on gray like this decal is printed. Usually Tamiya does a clear backing and has you paint the plastic the appropriate background color. Finally, on the decals, these settled in too nicely to be Tamiya. That said, they also settled really really fast. So don't plan on having time to move them around once off their backing. I just have to also comment that my favorite part of this kit was probably the cart. I don't know why but I very much enjoyed doing that. I didn't paint it the gray the instructions call for but rather did it in wood. I'd never done wood before and thought it would be a safe place to experiment. But I do think having done the cart in wood adds something to the overall look.

This is a fantastic model. All the pieces fit, everything goes right where it should. And the detail is a home run. I used some of the French Navy disguise decals and added a few of my own French decals from my decal box. Also kept the plane all one color, since German Splinter Camo would have given it away immediately to a good observer.
