Will actually prime a surface I will give it that. However it is really bad at doing it, peels, pulls off, cannot be sanded, stays tacky, and does not self level. There are plenty of better primers on the market.

I am new to painting model kits, so please take my review with that in mind. I had to practice a bit before I think I finally was able to use this primer properly. I've read both good and bad things about Vallejo's primers, but once I figured out that this one in particular need not be thinned, I was able to prime the project I'm working on with ease. I initially had thinned this in various ways (ie. with water, with thinner), but ultimately, I found that what works best for me was to apply as-is. It shrinks a bit after application and once fully dry which really helps to keep the details on your kit visible and doesn't clog them up. My only complaint is that now that I know that it works better unthinned, I wish I had bought a bigger bottle.
